Beginning of The Journey

I’ve been a content writer for almost 7 years now. It has been a rollercoaster ride through the years. I’ve seen almost everything the industry has to offer. From earning lakhs of rupees in a month to not having a gig for months. From high-praising clients to fake recruiters who just want free stuff in the name of hiring tests.

Having endured all this, I’ve grown in my craft and also fallen off the wagon a couple of times. And I understand this is all part of the game. However, it all started to get monotonous. The fun and excitement I had at the beginning of my career started to fade. It was high time I did something to turn things around. So, I decided to take on a challenge.

I read an article on Medium a few days back about writing every day, consistently. The author was on a 350+ days streak. Now THAT’s consistency. I took some inspiration from it and decided to sign up on the platform.

This challenge is going to help me in two distinct ways-

1) Having been in the industry for quite some time and writing things for clients, I’ve lost touch with my passion and my voice. This challenge could help me bring that back.

2) Being a free-willed person, I’m not disciplined enough to follow a habit. Yet. Not even the bad ones. This will help form a habit and follow it with discipline.

And of course, I hope to gain more readers over time. Who doesn’t like that, after all?

But what am I going to write about?

I don’t have a definite answer to that yet. I have a blog where I used to write about personal experiences. Even though my readers liked it, I doubt they’d want to read about ME every time I write something. There has to be something for the readers. Something that they find to be of value.

This might just be the third way in which this challenge could help me- finding a niche.
